Financial literacy (Digital India) campaign initiated by Dewan institute of management studies, Partapur bypass, Meerut

A financial literacy campaign regarding cashless transactions was initiated by the institute in the light of Digital India drive spearheaded by the central government, in the villages of Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh under the guidance of institute director Dr. Satish Kumar, motivated by Executive director Dr. (Col.) Naresh Goyal and inspired by the vice chairman of the institute Shri Vivek Dewan during the month of Decemeber 2016 for one week from 12 Dec 16 to 18 Dec 16. The faculties of the institute Dr. Prashant Sharma, Mr. Lalit Kumar, Mr. Sudheer Kumar, Mr. Vibhor Goyal and Mr. Shivshankar undertook the responsibility of campaign under the guidance of Director, Dr. Satish Kumar

Day 1,(12-12-16)

The campaign was started at village Ghat near N.H. 24. A demonstration of cashless transcations was done at the Residence of village pradhan Mr. Sanjay Rana. Mr. Rajendra Gupta resident of the village also cooperated for campaign. The demonstration regarding the apps operated on Android software such as Paytm, freecharge and Mobikwik were done and villagers were taught how to operate these apps for cashless transactions on Smartphone. Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) based mobile banking was taught to villagers as it can be operated from ordinary mobile also for cashless transactions.

Day 2,13-12-16

The second day campaign was done at village Bhudbaral on Delhi Road, Meerut at the Shop of Mr. Vijay Singhal a well known shopkeeper of the village. On the first day the importance of internet banking, ATM cards and Debit cards was taught and how to apply for it.

Day 3,14-12-16

The second day was also spent in Bhudbaral village as more villagers requested for the demonstration. The demonstration regarding the apps operated on Android software such as Paytm, freecharge and Mobikwik were done and villagers were taught how to operate these apps for cashless transaction on Smartphone. Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) based mobile banking was taught to villagers as it can be operated from ordinary mobile also for cashless transactions.

Day 4,15-12-16

The fourth day campaign was done at Mohiuddinpur village on Delhi Road at the shop of Mr. Tarun Sharma, Vyapar mandal adykash of Mohiuddinpur all the techniques mentioned in previous villages were demonstrated and taught.

Day 5,16-12-16

The day fifth was spent at partapur village. The demonstration was done at the Shop of Mr. Gyan Chand shopkeeper who was eager to know about cashless transactions. All the techniques mentioned in previous villages were demonstrated and taught.

Day 6,17-12-16

The day sixth campaign was done in Kunda Village, District Meerut. All the techniques mentioned in previous villages were demonstrated and taught.

Day 7,18-12-16

The day seventh campaign was done in Dungravli Village on partapur bypass, District Meerut. All the techniques mentioned in previous villages were demonstrated and taught.

We the faculties of Dewan institute of management studies feel satisfaction for providing digital literacy campaign for rural folks of Meerut.
